How might this conversation fit into the broader goals or challenges of the team or individual? When you prioritize context, you’re better positioned to address the root of the issue—not just its symptoms.

  2. Curiosity Over Certainty
    Approach with an open mind and a willingness to listen. Entering a conversation with rigid expectations can block the flow of productive dialogue. Instead, get curious: What’s their perspective? What might I be missing? Curiosity helps you uncover possibilities you wouldn’t have considered otherwise.

  3. Future Focus
    Move from problem to possibility. Instead of getting stuck in what went wrong, shift the conversation toward what’s next. Co-create solutions that last by asking: What outcome do we want? How can we move forward in a way that aligns with our shared goals?
